Meet Prinova at Intrafood 2018

KORTRIJK - Prinova is leading global supplier of ingredients and premix manufacturing solutions for the food, beverage and nutrition industries. With strategic stocks in numerous distribution centres around the world and liquid and dry premix manufacturing facilities in the UK, China and the USA, Prinova is a single-source partner from concept to completion for a wide range of industries including: dairy, meat, infant, beverage and nutrition.

With more than 2,000 ingredients in our portfolio, Prinova is always looking ahead of the trends in the market to offer bespoke solutions to their customers. Looking at the vegan market for instance, consumers trends shows a diet enriched in proteins with alternative vegan sources being in high demand and being evaluated regarding their functionality and protein quantity.

According to Mintel, many ‘new’ sources of protein are entering the marketplace, such as pea protein and rice protein, which are getting high attractiveness in the market, with the first one being the preferred source of protein for 13% of consumers. Soy is in the top 3 of the most favourite protein types and is expected to lead the global market with respect to market share. In line with this growing trend Prinova offers a wide range of plant based proteins such as Pea, Pumpkin, Rice and Soy – as well as Animal and Dairy Proteins. According to a research done in Germany, grains (such as rice) and legumes (such as pea) are the preferred sources of non-traditional protein for a high percentage of German consumers (56% and 49% respectively). “We know it is still a slow changing for consumers to adopt new sources of protein, but studies are proving that plant-based proteins combined can deliver similar levels of amino acids and be better digested by the body in comparison to dairy proteins for instance. We also know that tasting is a challenge. As an example, pea protein has quite a strong flavour profile. Prinova has developed a masking kit with a number of different flavoured maskers particularly designed to reduce that strong flavour of vegan base ingredients, suppressing bad tastes.”, says Tony Gay, Head of New Product Development at Prinova.

In addition to this, research indicates a strong trend for consuming dairy based products in convenient, on-the-go dairy snacks. As consumers are savvier and so looking for products falling into clean label, high-protein, low-sugar categories, more nutritional ingredients are needed to fortify these products. Prinova has premix manufacturing locations in the UK, China and the USA, producing bespoke liquid and dry blends for a wide range of applications in state-of-the-art facilities. Prinova is perfectly placed to offer customised blends of vitamins, minerals, amino acid, nutritional ingredients, proteins and more.

Meet us on 5 and 6 september at our stand D33 at Intrafood 2018 (Kortrijk Xpo) to learn more about our ingredients and premixes.
