Pinch in the final of the Amsterdam Food Pitch

AMSTERDAM - On June 25 2018 11 finalists will pitch their products for a professional jury at the wholesale  location of De Kweker in Amsterdam. The opinion of the jury will be decisive, but public votes will count for 25% in the final judgement. One of the finalists is Megan Vasko, owner of Pinch Dumplings in Amsterdam. This time she did not launch a new dumpling creation, but a delicious ‘make-everything-better-sauce’.

Three years ago, Megan Vasko started her own company Pinch, to re-invent the dumpling. That means she is not just launching the traditional dumplings, but an innovative range of dumplings (dim sum) inspired by flavours from all over the world. ‘We pinch a bit of bobotie from South Africa, a dash of Buffalo sauce from the US, a dollop of mango chutney from India -- You name it, we'll use it in our dumplings’ Megan says. Originally American but living in Amsterdam for several years now, she is inspired by kitchens, recipes and ingredients from all over the globe to create beautiful and delicious, innovative dumplings. On Instagram you can see how awesome they look, in her Pinch’s pop-up events you can taste them. Pinch dumplings can be found in restaurants ranging from cafes, to those awarded Michelin stars and in shops like Marqt.

For De Kweker however, Megan is bringing something totally different. With this ‘make-everything-better-sauce’ Megan shows that her creativity goes far beyond dumplings alone. The sauce is based on mayonnaise and smokey peppers and makes everything more tasty, it is creamy, spicy, smokey and hot at the same time. It goes very well with tacos, pizzasand sandwiches and so on. Only for desserts Megan makes an exception. So, it fits with almost everything!

It’s gonna be a real match on June 25th! We can be sure of three facts: it’s a competitive field, the Pinch make-everything-better-sauce is delicious and… if someone can do a pitch… then it’s Megan! Convinced? Look at her movie https://www.amsterdamfoodpitch.nl/stemmen/ and vote.
